Is there anychance we will get a save method similar to
the one in the full framework in the next .NETCF release??

I assume you are talking about the System.Bitmap.Save() method? If so, the
answer is yes!

For now you can check out this sample. A whitepaper is coming soon.

This sample demonstrates how to save a control as a bitmap (16 or 24 bit)
and can be used indirectly to save a Bitmap object:
