NexStar External Hard Drive & Vista

I have a Nexstar storage unit (NST_350U2) for my old hard drive which had XP
installed on it. When I plug it into my new computer with Vista it pops up
looking for new hardware for about 10 sec then Vista shuts down and starts to
boot into safe mode. I have tried this unit on an XP machine and appears to
work great. I'm not sure were the problem lies. Looking for some help on
this. The old hard drive is switched from master to slave.

The specs do not say it is Vista compatible, just Win98 through XP. Return
it for an enclousre that states it is Vista compatible.
