newsreader with Google-like view

I'm experimenting with M$ alternatives (such as Firebird - which I like a
lot, BTW) and I am looking for a FW newsreader. I'm trying 40Tude but I
would like one that can show all messages in a thread on one page, such as
when you Google a newsgroup and view all messages in one thread. Are there
any like that out there?

Doubtful. What you are seeing in Google isn't a feature so much
as the limitations of a web-based news reader.
