When attending groups I can not see my own postings. I know my postings are
shown in the group as they are commented by other partissipants. Also I
experience
that some of the other posters are not "shown" to me.
Would appreaciate if anyone has a hint of my possible wrongdoing.

tnx

How are you accessing the newsgroups, via a newsreader like OE, WM or WLM,
or by the web interface that you posted this message by?

I`m accessing by WM.
When using another PC (older) running OE there is no such problem.

Hi Fred, you are still confusing me a little, you say that you are using WM,
so why are you posting from the web interface and not directly from WM?

This link will open this newsgroup in WM:

news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.windows.vista.mail

The main reason for missing posts in newsgroups is at the Tools
Menu>Options>Read tab>remove the checkmark from Get ### Headers.
WM will now get all available.
Ensure that your Synchronization settings are set for All messages by right
clicking the newsgroup in the folder list.
Also check that your posting address is not in your blocked sender list at
Tools>junk mail Options, if so remove it.
HTH?

Tnx for your effort mac.
I was posting using my web-reader (Firefox) as it came up automatically when
I made my first postings.
(not much of a computerfreak I`m afraid)

When accessing this group using WM as per your instruction (clicking the
link) my own posting is
visible as it should be. That is - without doing any of the correcting
steps you recommend.
After doing these adjustments I still cant see my own postings in "my"
newsgroup. `
Same with some other posters (at least one) - and he is NOT in my blocked
sender list as far as I can see.
One thing though. When posting here I see it says Unicode (UTF-8) in the
headline, while usually I think
I`m using Western Europe (ISO) coding - for what reason I don`t know.
I could change that coding and make some test-posting in a appropriate
group, or maybe I shold revert some
other newsreader than WM ;-((

..........

Another information. When accessing this group through my normal newsserver
(news.online.no) I can`t see this thread at all. Because I originated it I
suppose? Many other of todays threads reads perfectly.
Seems maybe as this might be an issue related to the newsserver rather than
the WM program?

Fred, can you see the messages here:
http://www.microsoft.com/communitie...DDB-D18D-FA0E-A366-6E527B0FBA67&lang=en&cr=US

Also while viewing this newsgroup in WM, go to Tools>get headers, do your
messages appear now?

Not because you originated it, but the server might be a problem. Use the
msnews.microsoft.com server as in Mac's link previously.

:

Yes, when accessing with my webbrowser I can see all the postings.
Also all of mine - included the one time-stamped 7.47 (see below)

It seems a little strange. While wiewing the group with WM through the
msnews-newsserver I can see allt the postings - also mine - except for the
one you
actually refer to above - the one that has the timestamp 7.47 AM PST.
Pressing tools>get headers doesn`t help.

While wiewing the group through My ISP`s newsserver (news.online.no) with WM
the thread doesn`t show at all. Probably because I`m the originator and
for some strange reason I have managed to block myself out.

As said before - when firing up an older PC running OE everything is OK.

Sorry for taking your time - appreciate the help.

Fred

There are two settings in Windows Mail that may keep you from seeing
all the posts:
1. Go to Tools, Options, Read, uncheck "Get 300 headers at a time".
2. On the General tab, uncheck "Use newsgroup message rating
features". Microsoft has acknowledged that there is a bug in the
Communities features that may prevent messages posted under
that feature from appearing on the newsgroup server.

Problem solved I think, and even how much I hate to tell what the problem
was (very embarrasing)
I of cause will do so anyway.

I had not blocked myself or anyone else for that matter - it was even much
worse - I had blocked two complete top-domains - of which one was my own
online.no. and the other was hotmail.com.
I had done this in the mail-section of WM and I didn`t realise it would
affect news as well.
Well - how stupid is it possible to be.......... or are we retired people
(turning 70 shortly) somehow excused ;-))
Well it only proves the old saying that one should beware of computers -
remember you allways risk that they
are doing exactly what you ask tem to do - no what you think you are asking
them to do.

Tnx a lot to everyone for the help.

There you go "Old Lad" :-)

Pleased to hear that you are now relatively satisfied with your newsgroup
experience.

Just one thing that I wish for you to do, for your own benefit, it is not a
good idea to post to these newsgroups using your correct or valid e-mail
address.

Go to Tools>accounts>select the communities account>Properties
button>general tab>
change the email address from (e-mail address removed) to (e-mail address removed)
..

Any other questions, get back.
