Does anyone know of any FREE newsgroups? The news groups through my ISP are
only a smattering of what is out there?

Ditto! I saw this recommended for a long time. When I finally gave up
on my ISP's cheap outsourcing of a news server I couldn't help but to
smack myself on the forehead.
