My computer crashed. Restored, now all prior
configerations on Outlook gone. Please explain how to
get the "News" comand on my Outlook task bar, which in
turn pops up Outlook Express Newsgroups Window.
Thanks,
Ross

You probably know your Outlook version.
We sure don't.

We needed to know which version of Outlook you have so we could provide the
correct procedure; the differences between versions necessitate different
procedures. For Outlook 2003, go to 'Control Panel|Internet
Options|Programs' and change the default newsreader to Outlook Express. If
OE prompts you to make it your default newsreader the next time you launch
it, click the "Don't ask me again" box, then click the No button.

You may need to reset the menu or toolbar using 'Tools|Customize'.

Thanks, Hal I was in a total panic when I wrote the first message. In
addition to the Desktop computer crash, I had switched from dial up to DSL
and could not get Newsgroups Accounts to work with DSL. I finally calmed
down and found the solution that I had saved on my Laptop. The Desktop is
now configured to get mail on Outlook and News on Outlook Express. I
consider this dinky do, but it works. Thanks for responding to my call for
help
