NetMonster,
I see that you figured it out. However, it may not be a bad idea to post the
instructions for setting up Outlook Express from time to time.
Go to:
http://communities.microsoft.com/newsgroups/default.asp?ICP=spyware
and in the upper right hand frame SCROLL DOWN and continue to scroll until
you see the instructions. Ignore the "Using NNTP Newsreader" Link. - Just
scroll down.
I'd been reading messages on that site and wasn't smart enough to scroll
down. I kept selecting the "Using NNTP Newsreader" link and it did not go to
any instructions. I finally googled a site at:
http://www.pcbanter.net/archive/index.php/t-783081What-the-Deal-With-this-Beta-Spy-Ware-for-XP.html
The Outlook Express display is sooo much better than the web based readers.
I was glad to find the instructions. I just figured out about scrolling down
a few minutes ago.
I'm monitoring this site re fixing the update problems. My 1.0.509 is
working ok, and I'll just stick with it until there's a simple update that
doesn't have so many problems. If none comes along, I'll just let the MSAS
die. I need to start learning how to use Adaware anyway. However, until
this, I have felt that the MSAS was probably working fairly well. It caught
a couple of malwares.
