I've been using OE since Win 95, subscribing to, and downloading NG's
for offline reading, and never had a problem.
Bob
| Lou, based on the sophistication and experience of the many people who
use
| OE within this newsgroup, I find your argument somewhat weak. These
people
| (and I am not one of them) have never once cautioned against using OE
on the
| basis of security. In my own experience with OE, avoiding th
occasional post
| with an attachment, a flaky header and huge byte size is easy enough
to do.
| Other than those rare malicious posts, there is no more risk and FAR
more
| convenience and functionality in using OE to read newsgroups. Besides,
when
| one set of servers malfunctions, the other is bound to be up and
running,
| thus avoiding the "Not Available" situation.
