Is there a newsgroup for the discussion of backup software other
than this one? Thank you in advance for all replies.

Funny it only took me 5 seconds to do a search of a available groups
with the keyword "backup" to find alt.backup-software maybe you should
learn how to use the functions of Agent a bit better.

Hint to find a group. go to the Group menu > Show Groups and Folders >
Show all Groups Select the Groups pane and click the find button (It
looks like a torch with the beam pointing down right) enter the
keyword you want and click Find First. This will search all the groups
available on your Newserver. If the first result is not what you want
click Find Next. As there are around 30000+ groups on a full feed you
should find what you want somewhere, however try varying the keyword
for more results.

Just curious which newsreader you are using?

Check my headers If you can't do that. Then its Agent ver 2.0 32bit
the Op was using Agent 1.92 which has more or less exactly the same
functionality and is miles better than using the news reader built
into Outlook Express ver 6.0 like you are using.

Agent is the crappiest newsreader around. Bad UI design, only good for p0rN and
wArEz.

If you say so Eric (not that your opinion matters in the least to me.)
And anyway who says I don't use it for the afore mentioned uses oh and
by the way you can rearrange the UI anyway you like if you want to
have it any other way than the default.

Hey Andy! Are you having a bad hair day(s). I looked at the headers and
all I could discern is that you work for Siemens and live in the UK. Are
you one of those who travel to soccer games just to brawl?

Hi Jim

Sorry I seem to have gotton hold of the wrong end of the stick here
somehow. The comments about Agent being the crappiest reader in the
world came from Eric not me I just responded that it suits me and I
didn't really care what Eric thought anyway. I then pointed out to him
that if you don't like the default layout then it is possible to
rearrange it.

At no point did I become abusive or threatening and certainly none of
my comments in that post were aimed at you. My previous post was aimed
at you and all I did was tell you what software I was using as you
requested. Your message headers told me that you were using Outlook
Express to post so it seemed only fair to tell you that it could be
done that way but if you didn't know how then I had tell you straight
out.

It is fairly simple stuff to read the message headers to find out
stuff like this but some readers make it more difficult than others.

I then stated that Agent is a far better newsreader than Outlook
Express in my opinion. I have being using Agent for around 9 years now
and it suits my purposes much better than Outlook and has a lot less
vulnerabilities than the MS product.

I found Outlook to be a pain to use and have retried it several times
over the years and nothing has changed enough for me to want to go
back to it.

As to your question as to wether or not I am a football holigan (I
didn't realise their infamy had spread to Virginia) then the answer is
no I have not been to a soccer match since I was 7 years old (roughly
35 years ago). I am a very peaceable type and very rarely go looking
for trouble.

Yes I do work for Siemens and I post directly from Work and use a
similar setup at home to post as well. If you find out how to read
message headers on OE then you will soon tell if I am at home or work.
Work posts go via a German newserver and home is via Blueyonder which
is my local Cable TV/ Broadband provider.

I apologise if any part of my post gave offence to you this was not my
intention.

Andy
I rarely write a post like my last reply to you and it wasn't intended
to be mean spirited. Your comment about Outlook Express I am sure is
correct. I ride on the Microsoft wagon partly because it is the path of
least resistance and partly because they will eventually get it right. My
last post was only to say you might be coming on rather strong. I will keep
on with OE though some are touting other email and newsreaders. Mozella
seems to be getting a lot of attention now, but I guess I don't want to
learn another program. Glad you took my post in good form. Cheers!
