Can somebody tell me where Vista Home Prem stores read newsgroup files?
XP had dbx files, what does Vista have???

TIA, Irwin Opper

It has folders and .fol files from what I can make out. Don't know if that
helps you out or not. You may be able to find out more from having a
look-see yourself. Your message is showing up in that folder as a .nws file.
If you hover your mouse over the strange looking file name, it will show who
the message was from, and the subject.

They are located in the following filepath:

C/:Users/YOURNAME/AppData/Microsoft/Windows Mail/NAME OF FOLDER OR NEWGROUP

I much preferred the .dbx files. I knew exactly where I was with them.

In Windows Explorer,

Look in <yourUserName>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail

You'll find a folder for each news account you have. Under the account
folder, you'll find individual folders for each group to which you've
subscribed. Files for each group are in the applicable folders.

User>AppData>Local>Microsoft>Windows Mail> News.xxxxx.com

Have to say that I too have found the information of immense use to me.
Thing is... why the hell does MS do this? We spend years getting to a stage
we can do all the stuff we do, then for NO REASON I CAN WORK OUT, they
decide to change everything!

Sometimes re-inventing the wheel is just not worth it.
