TKO

Found a new newsreader, really like it. (new to me anyway)
Heres the link if you're interested. http://www.o-key.com/
It's has a really nice, clean interface, and it's fast. Didn't think I'd want a news reader that opened new windows
but it's kind of nice. I can open all my groups at the same time if I want to. And when you click on a link, it
opens it up in it's own browser. Very nice.

It says the next edition won't have posting in HTML. I would like to
try it when that happens.

Seem to recall this one from some years ago. Has it been updated?

Looks like you'll be waiting a while.
The next release was supposed happen 2 1/2 years ago.

Oops, my bad reading of the notes.
I missed the part about the latest beta being released 2 1/2
years ago.

Not an "oops". I originally had a reply typed up saying just about what
you said but, for some reason, decided to look at the release notes
before posting. I did find something odd there about how the newsreader
works:

<quote>
O-key and Download acceleration programs

As you might have seen O-key has an integrated links page for every
group.
Additional services are currently under development and will be made
available to our users.
In order to provide this and future services, the O-key reader opens a
web page on our server when opening a group. No information regarding
the user or his/her computer is sent or registered on our server. We
only count entrances to groups in order to know what groups to target.
Some download acceleration programs interfere with requests made by the
browser when the name of the group is the same as known file extensions.
If you try to open the group alt.binaries.sound.mp3 the download
accelerator interprets this a download request of an MP3 file.
<end quote>

It sounds a little strange to me that "O-key reader opens a web page on
(their) server when opening a group." But what do I know? Not much!

I think they're talking about the servers guide which is just a listing of different news servers.
Also, they could be referring to the links page. It opens up a browser that shows the links from a chosen
group.
At least I think.
Nice news reader anyway, thats all I care about.
