I've just upgraded from 98SE to XP Pro. I like the new
clearer screens, but ALL of my MSWord documents were
somehow converted to WordPad documents. Also, when I
received an email attachment (MSWord) I get an error
message that says something about the document not being a
32bit something or other.

Is there some way to revert all my MSWord documents to
their original status?....and what about receiving email
attachments? This is crazy to me.....jb

Try reinstalling your version of Microsoft Word. Some applications don't
always make a smooth transition when you upgrade and need to be reinstalled
again.

To the OP...
Attachments are blocked by default in Outlook Express, you
can allow them to be opened by using Tools/Options/security
tab, 4th box.
