Newgroup for SP2

I am beginning to think that we need a separate newsgroup for SP2? Anybody
agree?

Absolutely not. It may sound like a good idea, but in practice it
hardly ever works well. In my experience whenever you split a
newsgroup like this, what you end up with is people posting their
questions to both places. It just increases the overall traffic
and doesn't help anyone.

It's bad enough having newsgroups like windowsxp.basics and
windowsxp.general. Too high a percentage of questions get posted
to both, and we'd be better off with just windowsxp.general.

Colin - this has been discussed at length in other threads across the
newsgroups.
There is no need for an catch all SP2 newsgroup as it would not provide the
separation into specific areas that we have now.
If you have an issue with your PC you just post to the newsgroups as regards
the effected area and mention that your configuration includes SP2 just as
you would mention SP1 or SP1a etc in any reasonable quality post.
