Newbie Type Question

An employee is terminated. Obviously we don't want them trying to get
back into the system remotely. However, if we disable or delete the
account then we can't monitor current emails coming to that person.
For instance, clients that may not know that the person is no longer
here. What is the best practice for handling a situation such as this?
 
Mailboxes can have multiple addresses. Give their address to another person's
mailbox. Or go with Danny's suggestion,..either works,..there is more than one
way to deal with it.

BTW - I almost always disable accounts when they are no longer needed,...I
rarely delete them.

I ended up changing the password, and forwarding the email. What would
be the benefit of disabling instead of deleting an account?

It is one of those things that are just "opinion".

I've seen other admins. do it but never bothered to ask why.

I do it to maintain a more through "auditing trail". In a few cases employees
who left later returned, so all I did was renable the account.
