I have register a domain. Eg. (test.com)
I have install DNS in Win2000
I have add an forward lookup zone for "test.com"
I have add a NS record ns1.test.com
I have add a A record "ns1" map into an IP (my pc's IP). eg. (222.2.2.2)

What should I do next such that people type "ping ns1.test.com" can find my
pc?

Internal or external servers?

For internal machines (on the same network), configure the machines to use
this server as their DNS server.

For machines on the internet, your server must have a real ip address (for
all intents and purposes anyhow). Contact your registrar and have them
configure the authoritative DNS server for your domain to your server's ip
address.

Does the registrar only store the authoritative DNS server for the domain in
the form of a domain name, such as ns1.test.com, instead of an IP address?
