Hi all,

I'm brand new to this group. I use IE version 5.0 and
6.0 to log onto MSN, where I own a group. I make simple
web pages in this group, using MSN's Rich Text Tool, that
is only functional if you log onto MSN using a Microsoft
browser.

As of three days ago, the tool is gone. I log onto MSN
using IE, and log into my group, go to modify or create
new pages, and my Rich Text Tool is gone. It seems pretty
clear that this is a Microsoft issue - has anyone
encountered this, and if so, what can I do? Any
suggestions from anyone?

So far, to troubleshoot, I've run three spyware scans and
removed spyware, cleaned out all cookies and temp files,
rebooted a million times, done a disk defrag, and a virus
scan with Norton Anti Virus. I have 80% of my hard drive
space free, and tons of memory.

Help! The *only* change I've made to my system is to
install Norton Internet Security 2004 three days ago, but
the problem appeared before that.

Thanks!

Hi there,

Can you tell me how to do that? I shall give it a try,
but I do not know how. Please do not mock me. :-)

I just bought and installed NIS 2004 from Symantec
directly last week. I don't *think* it's outdated, but
how would one know?

Thanks for the suggestion - can you give me some
specifics?

Thanks so much,

Orophin

Hi there,

Wait a minute - you say to disable Script Blocking in NIS
2004, but doesn't that leave my system *totally*
vulnerable to malicious scripts?

Thanks,

Orophin

Not necessarily.

Note that I didn't say to disable it permanently. Its settings just may
need some tweaking.
