I have a 2003 server called PRINTSERVER with 2 Nics, each has it's own IP (1
LAN and 1 WAN). I can setup RRAS alright. However, this created another IP
address on the server and registered this 3rd IP (internal IP address for
PPP) in the DNS causing problem with all network and printer mappings that
have reference to this PRINTSERVER. I only need to use it as a RAS for
dialup and VPN connection from remote locations. Is there anyway to get rid
of the 3rd IP address or to keep the valid internal IP in the DNS?

Thanks a million

How to Prevent the DNS Register A Records for RRAS

The DNS Server service registers A Records for all interfaces on a server running Routing and Remote Access. That may cause a master browser and connection issues if the server is domain controller.

To prevent this behavior, follow these steps:

1. Start DNS Manager.

2. Right-click the computer name, and then click Properties.

3. Click the Interfaces tab, and then click Only the following IP addresses.

4. Remove any Routing and Remote Access IP addresses that are listed.

Thanks Robert;

I checked my DNS and these already done. The problem is that when the RRAS was configured, it added another IP that then registered by itself to the DNS. If I can prevent this from happening, it shoudl work.
Thanks
