Stupid question i know, but something i need to know before i do it. Have a
server running win 2000 with active directory and exchange. Currently I
left it logged on as administrator and just lock the computer, but I need to
log out and back in,, will the logging out and back in effect the network,
or will the services still run even if im not logged in as administrator?

Services are not affected by you logging in and out.

Services will normally run without anyone logged in, applications
normally will not. Exchange runs as a service (or set of services
actually) so there shouldn't be any interruptions.
