I have an AD forest with 5 domains
master.com
domain2.master.com
domain3.master.com
domain4.master.com
domain5.master.com

What i am trying to do is make it such that any computer - in ANY domain
should be able to resolve the FQDN of ANY other computer in ANY other domain
through DNS - so that i can totally remove WINS.
How would i go about doing this?
Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Much Thanks in advance,
Rummie

Probably, the easiest way is to put a secondary for all domains not local on
all DNS servers.

I was hoping no one would say that :-)
I have already done this - and pointed each secondary at the NS servers for
the zones i want to resolve. Its working, but this means that every time i
bring up a new domain (zone) i have to configure DNS with X number of
secondary lookup Zones (x getting larger every time i add a domain).
Isnt there a way to do this that is simpler? i thought i could create
SUB-domains in the PRIMARY domain and by doing so - all would resolve as it
should - appending parent to suffix, is this wrong?
For example -
MASTER.COM
SUB1.MASTER.COM
SUB2.MASTER.COM
etc etc

There is another way create a master zone then use a delegation for all the
child zones.
The problem with using a single master zone is getting all records for all
the child zones in the sub-zones on the master.
Is this an AD domain?
If it is, there is one more option, Point all clients and servers to at
least one parent DC. If this is multiple locations put a parent DC at all
locations. Then the parent DCs would replicate the master zone with all
records throughout all DCs in the parent domain.

Yes! this is an AD domain - - and as such this is what i was hoping to do.
Will i have to reinstall DNS to set up a MASTER zone with multiple
delegations for my subdomains?
Also - i currently have delegations for two of my subdomains - and
resolution is not working...any ideas?
