Newbie question about manual clip creation

I'm using MM 5.1

I've imported a wmv file into MM and dragged it to the time line. I
know that I want to export just the section of the file between 51
minutes and 61 minutes, but can't for the life of me figure out how to
do this apparently simple task. Can anybody help?

Find the spot on the clip where you want it to cut off and split it (Ctrl+L)
or right click on the clip and choose 'Split'. Now just delete the first
part of the clip. Do the same for the any extra footage you don't want
after the 61 minutes. Hope this helps.

That worked well. Thanks! Shame it cant be more intuitive :)
