Hi All,

I have created my first data access page and this works fine when I run
it from Access, but when I right click on the report then run "web page
preview" I get the errors:-

"You do not have the necessary permissions to use......" then the path
of the DB.

It then says

"data provider could not be initialised".

How do I enable permissions on the DB to allow external access / what
do I need to do? I presume this is related to security in some way but
can't find any info.

TIA

Andi

Well, as you didn't receive any answer in this newsgroup and in the other
newsgroup about DAP, I will take the liberty of saying something about DAP:
I don't want to be rude but about everyone here (and I'm not talking about
this newsgroup specifically but also for m.p.access.dataaccess.pages ) have
probably forgotten all they know about DAP a long time ago and this for one
reason: they are to much difficult to ease for anything but the most simple
tasks and simply put, they are not worth the effort of trying to use them.

Myself, the last time that I've used DAP against a SQL-Server is more than
two years ago and against a MDB file more than three years; so I've
forgotten about everything on this topic.

Finally, they will be deprecated in the forthcoming Access 2006.

i friggin love DAPs i just implemented a bunch of them at MS just last
year.
based on ADP of course.

they worked great... you just cant' edit them outside of access.
i had a wrapper frame that wrapped around the DAP and set things
programmatically from the included DAP file.
