Chris - Upgrading from ME to W2k is not only iffy but is not supported
by Microsoft - ME is actually a more recent OS than W2k.
However, maybe you've lucked out. If W2k appears to be working correctly
in all respects except the display color problem, you probably need
only to replace the driver for the video card (whether the card is a
separate item or integrated on the motherboard.) If a W2k driver for the
video component exists, the manufacturer and maybe Microsoft will have
it and you can download it. Instructions for replacing a driver are
available in various placen in W2k, including the main Help files and
Device Manager Troubleshooting files.
If you stick the W2k CD in the drive and run the following command, you
may get a hint as to the nature of your problem:
[CD]:\i386\winnt32.exe /checkupgradeonly
If and when you fix that problem, you may stumble on other more subtle
ones. Good luck, though...
I Upgraded my system from Windows Me to Win 2000 Pro.
The sysem boots without a problem, ask for a password and
proceeds to finish loading.
Just before full access is allowed... for some reason all
the color goes out and I can only use the system in a
black and white mode.
Can any tell me how to fix this?
