I am running XP SP2, and using WMM 2.01. I have captured the video
from my SONY DCR-HC30, and I was able to minipulate the program as far
as the title and trailer go.
What I want to do and know is how do I convert this MSWMM format to be
able to show this video on my home TV. I have a dvd/cd player.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

MSWMM is not a video format. It is the parameters of your video project
saved to a file.
You must first save your project as a valid video file, and since you wish
to convert it to DVD, you have to save your file as a DV-AVI file.

Once you have saved the project as a video, you then simply import that
video into your DVD authoring program. Sonic MyDVD id a popular, easy to
use program that will make DVDs compatible with many stand alone DVD
players.

Be aware that many standalone DVD players will be very picky when it comes
to what type of discs
it will play (DVD -R, DVD +R, etc). Trial and error is the only way to find
what works best with your equipment.

Bobby,
Thank you for getting back to me. I tried what you suggested but
could not find the option to save DV-AVI. I do get an option to save
back to the camcorder, but only if there is a tape in there and I
guess if I have a firewire and not the USB.
I tried to use the save command to the CD-R and a CD-RW but these
didn't work in the 3 TV DVD players I have.
Any other suggestions?

Dan

OK, I have read everyone's suggestions and I appreciate them. I have
tried to use what was suggested and have been able to burn my DVD with
an AVI extension. Unfortunately, all 3 of my DVD players (not
computer) will not play this format.
Can anyone tell me just what format I should be saving my file as. If
I keep using all my DVD's for trail and error, I may go broke.
Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

DVD discs that will play in standalone DVD players must be recorded using a
strict standard, the video is in a specialized MPEG-2 format and the audio
is in a special format also.

You *MUST* use a DVD authoring program to make compatible DVDs. While there
are DVD players that will play .AVI and DIVX files, your DVD player is
probably only capable of playing a standard DVD disc.

Sonic MyDVD and Roxio Disc Creator, and Nero Vision Express are three very
popular programs for authoring DVDs.

I personally purchased a Philips DVP-642; it plays DVDs, MP3, JPEG, MPG,
..AVI and DivX encoded files, and just about any other format you can throw
at it.
