I have tried to format my boot Hard Drive by booting from
Win 98 floppy in A: drive. But the keyboard isn't
registering this way so cannot reformat the NTFS-formatted
C: drive to reinstall WinXP Pro.

Can I make a bootable CD with WinXP to allow me to
reformat C: in NTFS, then reinstall WinXP Pro? It's
obvious Win98 doesn't have the drivers to allow me to type
the format C: command.

TIA

Just boot with the XP CDROM and follow the instructions.

You already *HAVE* a bootable CD. Simply change the boot order in the BIOS
(see motherboard or system manual for exact details) and boot from the
Windows disc.
