we just upgraded to xp from 98 and only one of our user names has access to
our email and favorites... Also, from start to All Programs, they run off the
side of the screen and I cant figure out how to change it. i am completely
frustrated with our new improved system. Any suggestions for an xp dummy?

Right click taskbar then properties and switch to classic.
If you use search then select advanced, look for .msc
lusrmgr.msc opens users.
All others can be very handy.

In users right click blank area in users and add your user.
Next: Click groups then click administrators then add your user.
That gives your user, administrator rights.

You may also have to use folder options view in explorer and unhide files
etc.
That enables search to find such normally hidden system files.

In Windows Xp each user is much more independent than in Windows 98, it means
that, in windows xp, the user1 has different favourites folder and a
different e-mail account than user2. Each one is completely independent, this
time ;)
What you should do is to go on Control Panel > User Accounts and then you
create how users you which. To set each one preferences, you have to logon
with user you want.
About the start menu, try to right click in task bar > properties > Start
Menu and choose the "Classic Start Menu". It's as win98 start menu ;)
Hope it helps
