newbie help please!!!

I am a newbie to computers just got one for Xmas.
I keep getting a pop up box saying "this programme has
performed an illegal operation and will be shut down"

It keeps popping up all the time and I do not know what to
do!

on the highlight bar it says nilbjpoc

Can anyone help?
