Once my application is created, and I've put together the
install package, I'm finding a curious problem. On MY
computer, the install screen displays just fine. When I
install the app on one of my users' computers, the buttons
for "Back," "Next," "Cancel," etc., are almost hidden by
the bottom of the install dialog. I can't resize the dialog,
nor can I read what's on the buttons. However, if I
press the slivers of buttons that are showing in the dialog,
I can successfully install the app.

Thanks, in advance, for any help and suggestions for
how to get these buttons to display.

Hi Patrick,

Just a gues

Did you use an image in your installpackage (logo) what is maybe to large?

Ah. A bit of additional information--I've updated my
application and reinstalled it on a user's machine. When
the new app was run, the application window wasn't the
correct, new size. So, I went back to VB.NET and
played with the app window, resizing and reinstalling it
on the user's machine. Each time, it displayed at the old
size, ALTHOUGH changes to the controls showed up.

This sounded like a heavy-handed display card. I
searched the registry, and found a registry entry for the
Matrox desktop that was saving the application size
for each application. Deleting that entry allowed my
reinstalled app to display correctly.

So, my question is this. Although I couldn't find any
reference to a Setup program in the Matrox registry
settings, could the size of the application window be
remembered somewhere, and cause the buttons to
be partially hidden by the bottom of the app window?
If I can't locate where this might be, is it possible to
resize the Setup application window, or make a
custom Setup form?

Thanks, in advance, for your help and suggestions.

Hi,

Patrick this is something that goes far befare doing this on distance.

And I to pas by is probably a little to far

:-))

But thanks telling this, now I remembererd such an problem has been before
in this newsgroup, but not with an install program. The graphic adapter was
damaged.

(I am not saying this card is dammaged of course)

Sorry I cannot help you with this,

Cor

Well, you didn't say where you are, so I'm assuming
you're on the first flight, right? Just kidding. :-))

As we're on the verge of updating all of our computers,
even if I don't get it solved, I'm betting it goes away
once the video cards are replaced. Thanks, again.
