Hey

I've installed the DotNetNuke StarterKit together with my visual web
developer 2005 express. When I for the first time run my DNN site, I see
this data:
Installation Status Report
00:00:00.234 - Installing Version: 3.1.0
00:00:00.265 - Installing Script: DotNetNuke.SetUp.SqlDataProvider
00:00:09.453 - Installing Script: DotNetNuke.Schema.SqlDataProvider

A tutorial I have says that installation is finished when a link with the
text "Click Here To Access Your Portal", is displayed on the page. I don't
see such link (and I waited several minutes)

My computer has winXP Pro (sp2)

I have not installed Sql Server Express, I've so far only used the default
database installed when I installed visual web developer 2005 express

Any suggestions to solve this?

Jeff

have you renamed release.config to web.config??
have you changed the connectionstring to your sql server??
provide more details to get help..

Hey

I haven't change a thing. I just installled the DotNetNuke StarterKit, then
I started visual web developer 2005 express and created a new website based
on the DotNetNuke StarterKit template which has been added to vwd.

When I start the site, then I get the errors below.

I haven't renamed release.config or made any changes to web.config!

I haven't installed Sql Server 2005 Express, But I have installed the
version of sql server 2005 which came with visual web developer 2005 express
(maybe it's called Sql Server 2005 Express???)

My intention was to get a simple DotNetNuke site up and running, and then
use the functionality embedded in vwd to deploy my DotNetNuke to a live
server (with "live" I mean a server available on the Internet)

Any suggestions?

Jeff

I installed Sql Server 2005 Express and it works great. Using Sql Server
embedded with visual web developer 2005 express wasn't enough
