I recently posted a request for a critique of my website (thanks Tom Pepper
Willett, Kevin Spencer, and Luther Moon).

My questions from those responses:
-- What is the standard size for graphic images?
-- VML not compatible in all browsers; I did not create intentionally in
VML, but that was something FP 2003 put in .... Is there a workaround or
replacement for the VML?

Thanks again! Mike

There isn't a standard size...you should Optimize them to the smallest file size that still looks good on the web. A good (and free) program to do this is IrFanview. (google for url)

Yes, don't use Textboxes, WordArt, or Draw features of FP, they create VML graphics which only work well in IE and are rendered as .gifs in other browsers (sometimes very jaggy gifs).

You can convert the existing VML "art" into jpgs by doing a Print Scrn when viewing them in your browser then Paste into a image editor and save them as jpgs and use the jpgs in your FP web design rather than using FP's vml graphics.
