newbee VPN client question

I just read that the windows built in VPN client does not support
encryption. I can't find any information that says otherwise. This seems
very strange to me, can someone advise please?

I don't want to force user to install a 3rd party client, but if the only
way to safely use VPN is with a 3rd party app, then I guess I will have to.
