Hi

I have the following question:

My dad has recently bought two new computers and one new
server to his office and I have never used Windows XP
before! When the two computers where bought from HP they
came preinstalled with XP PRO and there was only one
account present on the computers, the administrator
account! My question is when I configure the computers and
install new software should I create a new user on each
computer, i.e. USER1 and USER2 or should I rename the
administrator accounts to USER1 and USER2?

Thanks

P.S. If I create a new account should I NOT do any
alteration to the administrator account and only configure
the control panel and install software etc for the new
user!

Hi,

Leave the administrator account alone. Just create necessary user accounts
(give them admin rights if they feel they need it, but usually power user is
enough). Install the software normally, but you may find that it needs to be
installed while logged on as each user (depends on whether the software is
"user-aware").

by default the administrator account is there...but if
you make another user with the administrator level then
when you start up your computer with the user with the
administrator level will only show up and not the default
administrator account...

if that helps...hopefully you can reply ^_^
