New XP user confused!

I'm in my first days with the XP Professional edition. While I do understand it is different all around and have been able to find most things without a lot of problem, just frustration! Can anyone tell me how to find my Excel spreadsheat program, without opening an excel file first? I used to explore the c drive when necessary to find a program or file. It just doesn't show up! Wondering if there is a quick way to go to my programs

Have you installed Excel yet? You do realise that Excel is not included
with XP Professional. Excel needs to be purchased separately on its
own, or as part of Office. Or you can re-use a copy of Excel or Office
that you purchased previously.

From the original question asked most people would assume the person asking
had Excel already on their system prior to the update to XP Pro. After all,
she asked where to find her Excel spreadsheet program.

Its a "hidden" file in XP.In Windows Explorer go to Tools-Folder
Options-View and check the radio button "Show Hidden Files and Folders"
