Two PC home network using NAT/proxy software (Browsegate - two user
only) to share dialup internet connection. I just added a third PC running
XP pro to my network and it's not configured as another client (i.e. it
dials out on its own). The problem is that every time I boot the new XP box,
it causes my NAT/proxy software on the server PC to dial out. This didn't
happen with earlier Win98 or WinME boxes, that I had earlier, just this
new one.
I've disabled Windows IM, disabled Norton A/V auto update, and also
Windows XP auto update, but nothing helps. I guess the XP box is sending a
DNS request when it first boots (after I disconnect the server from dialing
out, I'm fine until the next boot) but I don't know why (wake on LAN in BIOS
is disabled) and I can't figure out what to do next.
