Which particular patch are you talking about?

If you received it as an e-mail attachment then you are probably now
infected with a virus.

After installing I get "memory access violation" error on
start up. Also mouse cursor has continual hour glass. Any

I am referring to Microsofts "September 2003, Cumulative
Patch".I believe I downloaded it from their web site.
Whats best plan for me if its a virus?

This is definitely not legit.

This sounds like the virus you are describing and contains removal
instructions.

You should get yourself an anti-virus program. If you already have one, you
should keep your AV definitions up-to-date.

Also, note that Microsoft never sends unsolicited files by e-mail.
