new windows open minimized, broken

Hello,

This problem has popped up in the past few days: When I click a link on any website that opens a new window in the process, the new window is shown somewhere in the middle of my screen, is transparent, and fully minimized. I have scoured the internet for a solution, and all I have found are suggestions to re-size the windows and close them in various ways, apparently re-setting the new window size settings. I have done all of these suggestions (hold alt-x, hold control when closing, etc.) to no avail. I have also fully updated IE, and that too did nothing. I have a feeling that I have contracted a worm or virus, but I have run Ad-Aware, Spybot, and updated my Symantec AntiVirus scanner every day, and run daily scans. Does this problem sound familiar to anyone? Anyone know how to fix it? If so, please respond here and via e-mail at (e-mail address removed) (you know what to do about the e-mail). When you right-click the button on the taskbar, there are options for "size"
and "move" right? Experiment with Size first, using the arrow keys on the
keyboard. Then try the Move option with the arrow keys. Your window is
probably very small and off the screen or very, very small (1 pixel?) but
still on the screen. Once you can see it, drag it out to the desired size
and make it the last IE window you close.
