Hi all,

Whenever I click on a link which opens a new browser window, the
window does not load - I have to click STOP and then refresh for it
to work. The outline of the window, as well as the toolbars are
visible, but the main body of the window is not - it is transparent so
that I can see whatever window is open beneath it. This also happens
when I click on a link from Outlook Express.

Hope this makes sense!

Thanks

Rob

Hi Rob, i was having that problem too after signing up
with Comcast. I got good news for you, I found the
solution at "http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=180176".
The cause is: Some Internet Explorer registry information
is missing or damaged. Follow the directions below:

To resolve this issue:
Click Start, and then click Run.
In the Open box, type "regsvr32 actxprxy.dll"
Click OK, and then click OK again when you receive the
following message: "DllRegisterServer in actxprxy.dll
succeeded."

Click Start, and then click Run.
In the Open box, type "regsvr32 shdocvw.dll"
Click OK, and then click OK again when you receive the
following message: "DllRegisterServer in shdocvw.dll
succeeded."

Restart your computer.
This problem may also occur if the registration
information is missing or damaged for some Windows or
Internet Explorer files. If the steps that are discussed
earlier in this article do not work, repeat the steps to
register some additional Windows and Internet Explorer
files. To do so, use the following commands:
regsvr32 oleaut32.dll
regsvr32 shdocvw.dll
regsvr32 actxproxy.dll
regsvr32 mshtml.dll
regsvr32 pdm32.dll

This problem does not occur in Internet Explorer 4.01
Service Pack 1 or later.

It worked for me, hope it work for you.

From http://www.fjsmjs.com/OE/nolinks.htm

1. Click Start, and then click Run.

2. In the Open box, type:

regsvr32 urlmon.dll

3. Click OK, and then click OK again when you receive the following message:

DllRegisterServer in urlmon.dll succeeded.

4. If that doesn't fix it, see this article:

http://www.mvps.org/inetexplorer/answers.htm#new_window

You can also try this:

Go to Start/run, and type SFC (SFC /SCANNOW for Win2K or WinXP).
Choose 'Extract One File From Installation Disk'.
Type oleaut32.dll, not worrying about its location. Then, click Start.

Next to 'Restore From', type in or browse for the file's location, which is
probably in the Win98 folder of your installation CD-ROM (typically
D:\Win98), or in your Windows\Options\Cabs folder, as the case may be.

Then, next to 'Save File In', enter C:\Windows\System, and click OK. System
File Checker looks for the file, saves it as you requested, and then tells
you that 'the file has been successfully extracted'.

You may need to reboot.
