new windows dont load

when im using internet explorer and i click on a link that
opens in a new window it just brings up an empty window
and doesnt load or anything, sometimes i can hit stop then
go and it will load but for pop up windows like this
window to post my messege wont work, i had to use msn
explorer which i cant stand, does anyone else have this
problem and does anyone know how to fix it?

1. Click Start, and then click Run.

2. In the Open box, type:

regsvr32 urlmon.dll

3. Click OK, and then click OK again when you receive the following message:

DllRegisterServer in urlmon.dll succeeded.

You can also try this:

Go to Start/run, and type SFC (SFC /SCANNOW for Win2K or WinXP).
Choose 'Extract One File From Installation Disk'.
Type oleaut32.dll, not worrying about its location. Then, click Start.

Next to 'Restore From', type in or browse for the file's location, which is
probably in the Win98 folder of your installation CD-ROM (typically
D:\Win98), or in your Windows\Options\Cabs folder, as the case may be.

Then, next to 'Save File In', enter C:\Windows\System, and click OK. System
File Checker looks for the file, saves it as you requested, and then tells
you that 'the file has been successfully extracted'.

You may need to reboot.
 
Hi,

I reported a similar problem with Windows XP and IE 6 SP1, and I have done
the following:

1. Did the regsvr32 operation for all the files that Debbie suggested.

2. Downloaded and ran Spybot and Ad-Aware.

The problem remains the same...

1. When I am in Yahoo Mail Compose and I select Insert Address or To:, a
Child Window opens with addresses. After I select and address and click on
Insert it, the child window goes blank, stays open and the address is not
transferred to the parent page.

2. I also have never been able to download an XP uppdate. After I click on
Install a Download wind pops up and it gets hung on "Preparing to Download".

Many Thanks, to Frank Saunders, Debbie and Henri Leboeuf for their
suggestions. Looks like many people are having similar problems... Blank
Windows, unwanted Toolbar entries, unable to download etc.
