Does anyone know the optimial size for a new Boot partition for Windows 2003
Server Standard Ed.? I'm installing the OS on a new server, and I'm using
NTFS file system for the boot partition. The range of size is 4MB to 61MB.

Thanks!

I would calculate about 2GB for the clean operating system, at least
another GB for future service packs and fixes, add the max size for your
paging file - don't forget that you might want to add RAM and enlarge the
paging file in the future - add needed space for any applications installed
on the system/boot volume, and at last, add 50% to avoid filling the volume
to more than 70%.

Best regards

Hi,

I ended up selecting 10GB for the boot partition (C: drive). That left
around 70GB for the other NTFS drive (D:). I hope this is correct.

Thank you.
