new window minimized

I was using IE 6.0 one day when my cat put a paw on the
keyboard and managed to change one of the settings. Now,
when I click on a link that opens a new window, it
appears as a small vertical block rather than full screen
as before. This can be maximized to full screen, but I
would like to know how to return to the previous setting.

Grab a corner of the window and drag it to the size desired. Close the
window using File>Close. Open the window again. It should open at the size
you just set it to.
 
Try stretching the small window to full size. (Do not use Maximize)
Ensure that window is the last one closed and IE should remember the
size next time.
