Hi

Whenever I'm on a site and tries to open a page in a new window, leaving the
previous window opened in the back, the new window appears but nothing else
happends. I have tried a lot of different things but nothing have solved the
problem. I have even tried several procedures for uninstalling IE6 but
without any luck. I have alos tried closing down any security software
running on my system and scanned the system for adaware as well. I hope some
of you outthere has a suggestion that I might try. I know that several
others have the same problem.

Thanks

See if anything here helps..

Hi, I have the similar problem. In my case, when I click on a link nothing
happens. I tried the solution posted by Ricky, but my problem was not solved.
Was your problem solved if so, how?

Thanks

From http://www.fjsmjs.com/OE/nolinks.htm

Open Windows Explorer.
Go to Tools | Folder Options | File Types.
Scroll down to URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol and select it.
Click Edit or Advanced, depending on your Windows version.
Select 'open'.
Click Edit.

"Application used to perform this action" should read:

"C:\PROGRAM FILES\INTERNET EXPLORER\iexplore.exe" -nohome
(Check the path to iexplore.exe to make sure that is correct and use the
double quotes.)

DDE should be checked and in the boxes below it you should have:

#1:
"%1",,-1,0,,,,
#2
IExplore
#3 (blank)

#4
WWW_OpenURL

URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol with Privacy should be the same.

Sometimes it is necessary to uncheck Use DDE.

If that doesn't fix it, go to Start | Run and type

regsvr32 urlmon.dll

Hi Frank,
Thanks for the reply. I tried the solution you suggested, but no use. Also
when I typed "regsvr32 msjava.dll" in run command, the message said
"LoadLibrary("msjava.dll") failed - The specified module could not be found".
Does this has anything to do with my problem. How do I rectify this
situation. For all other runs the message said "Dllregisterserver in ______
succedded". Thanks in advance for your reply
