New Window Displayed As Title Bar Only

When I click on hyperlinks on a page or email, the new window opens as a
title bar only. I have to resize it and also click on the Restore button to
get the window to full size. This fixes the problem but only while IE is
open. When I close and re-open the browser, the problem comes back.
This just started happening over the past week or so. Is there a permanent
fix?

Daffy (love your return addy) - I had the opposite situation, but it's
possible the solution may be the same. In my case, after running a
windows update, I found myself with new windows that totally covered
the old ones, stole focus, and wouldn't be reduced. This made them
appear normal-sized. Be sure to export the pertinent keys before you
change anything since it's best to return the registry to the norm if
it doesn't work.

Courtesy of MVP Sandi Hardmeier:
.... run regedit and remove these registry key values which are most
likely corrupted:

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\window_placement

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\internetexplorer\Desktop\oldWorkAreas\OldWorkAreaRects

Then reboot.

Hi Daffy,

Reset the Window_Placement.

Fix available here:
http://www.angelfire.com/dragon/sramesh2k/reg/IEPlacement.reg

(Deletes the Window_Placement key in registry)

It's good to see another Daffy Duck fan. The email address has been
effective in prevent spam to my private mailbox.
I tried your suggestion but it didn't work. Thank you for your response
anyway.
