When ever I use control N to create a new window, no new window is created
and the window I was on is removed as well. What is causing this problem.

It all started when I was forced to update My Earthlink toolbar.

I have disabled the pop-up blocker but the problem is still there. When I
did the
regsvr32 urlmon.dll, regsvr32 Shdocvw.dll, regsvr32 Actxprxy.dll, regsvr32
Oleaut32.dll, regsvr32 Mshtml.dll, regsvr32 Browseui.dll and regsvr32
Shell32.dll in the "run", it worked.

Thankyou

That could be it. Try removing it. A commonly suspected culprit
for this symptom is the Yahoo Companion Toolbar.

It is the Earthlink toolbar that was updated and not the yahoo toolbar.

I have discovered, much to my dismay, that the "fix" with the regsvr32 only
lasted for a short time.

The problem has returned.

After a week of frustration, I have found something that fixed the problem
but I am unsure why. I decided to defragment the C-Drive and discovered a
large block of files that would defragment. They were in
\Documents and Settings\JohnSmith\Local Settings\History\History.IE5

They totaled over 2.9 Gigabytes of memory.
I was able to delete those files and will have to do that everytime I log off.
I wish I could find out why this is so but at least my browser is functional
and easy to use again.
