Dan

Whenever I open a new window by clicking File/New/Window,
that new window opens up with the status bar missing and
I have to manually choose to have it displayed by
clicking View/Status Bar.

I am aware that I can open a new window by clicking on
the little "e" in my quick launch bar, but I prefer to do
it in the manner described above because it allows me to
keep my original page while exploring something else.

Could anyone please help me with this?
Thanks!

Dan,
If your status bar disappears when opening a new IE 6 browser window:

1) With (only one) IE open, click View, select: Status Bar
2) Right-click on IE's Toolbar and select: "Lock the Toolbar"
3) Hold down the Ctrl key and click the close button (upper right)

Verify that these Registry entries exist:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main]
"Show_StatusBar"="yes"
"Show_URLinStatusBar"="yes"

[Exception]
In some cases the "Remember last window size" info becomes corrupted in the
Registry.
