Hi, Nobody.
No TV on my AIW 9600. :>(
As it has been for a year now, since WinXP x64 first appeared. I can always
get support for the graphics card itself. But TV is the reason I bought the
AIW, rather than a plain 9600, and that hasn't been supported on anything
higher than WinXP x86 (32-bit). I've tried both the x86 and x64 versions of
every Vista beta build that I've received since last summer.
Support for the non-MMC aspects of the 9600 are built into Vista Beta 2.
Vista Setup detects the card and automatically installs drivers for it.
Device Manager reports the current version as:
RADEON 9600 Series (Microsoft Corporation - WDDM)
Driver Provider: ATI Technologies, Inc.
Driver Date: 4/26/2006
Driver Version: 7.7.9.0
Digital Signer: microsoft windows component publisher
I've stopped bothering to download drivers from ATI (after 6-1 and MMC 9.13)
because (1) the drivers built into Vista do fine for non-MMC and (2) drivers
that I've downloaded from ATI don't add anything - even with those, I STILL
can't watch TV on my computer monitor. When I try to install the MMC, my
computer goes through all the motions and it appears that they install. But
when I try to run the TV, an error tells me that MMC has not been installed.
As I recall, it actually says something like "it appears that MMC has not
been installed" and suggests I run Setup again. Recently, even on WinXP
x86, TV has stopped working and I'm too disgusted with it to try to fix it!

I'm not an audiophile, videophile or gamer, so other users might have a
different perspective.
