Does anyone know if the new Basic style will be in RC1 or not. The
screenshots are from MS and it looks like it is already done. Maybe it will
be in the next released build of Vista that testers get so we can get more
screenshots of it. It seems the reaction to it is all positive except people
would still like to have the Glass style Min/Max/Close buttons.

Microsoft's marketing scheme with Vista is counting on that. No-Aero in
Vista Basic is a feature - a money making feature - for Microsoft.

Amazing you have acquired knowledge Microsoft's marketing plans for Vista
long before it is released. What a bogus post!

<chop>

Please learn to put two and two together. As is, that's exactly what MS is
up to. Do you want me to spell the scenario out for you?

Buys Windows Basic preload onto a computer > starts Windows > sees neat

a Premium or Ultimate version components.

Well first off if you do get Home Basic you can run the Classic, Basic, or
Standard UI with the right video card. The question still has not been
answered though. When will the new Basic UI first show up in Vista? Will it
be in RC1 or will it show up in the next release of a Vista build? Would
like to see more screenshots of it.

Where's the link to the screenshots from MS of the new basic style? I'm
curious to see it.

Yawn, well it's time he graduate to threes. Here's some threes he can start
with:

I definitely like the new non-aero standard a lot more, only I wish they
would match the positioning and style of the Minimise/Restore/Close buttons
cluster to aero.

One can only imagine that it will be in RC1 from all the complaints about
how bad the ‘standard’ is right now.

Hey Carey where you been?

Have been expecting you to turn up here for some time now.

Just to let you know that is the Basic UI not the Standard UI. The Standard
UI is Glass without transparency.
