new user can't log on

I created a new user account on xp home. When attempting to log onto this account an error message pops up stating "Windows cannot log you on because your profile cannot be loaded." I have searched Google and not found an answer to my specific problem. Can anyone help, please?
 
have tried deleting and re-creating account several times -- it doesn't
resolve the problem
