I've just graduated from Windows 98 SE to XP. As much as I love Windows 98,
I'm quite enjoying my new Windows eXPerience! There's a bit of a learning
curve with XP from 98 SE, so I'm still a big time rookie! I have just a few
questions:
With Windows 98, I had the option of previewing my video files in the
Windows explorer preview pane (left side web content). How can I do the same
thing with Windows XP? Yes, XP offers thumbnails of my videos (most of which
are just black anyway - and how do I change THAT!) but I want to actually
play the file in the webview pane without opening up WMP's main window.
I'm also looking for XP themes and styles to enhance the visual appearance
of XP. Does anyone know of a good free site safe from viruses and spyware?
I found one, but it suggested that I apply a patched uxtheme.dll file to
allow the themes to be loaded. Since I don't know much about XP, I was
reluctant to try the themes (which were visually stunning, by the way!) and
apply the patched file.
Lastly, where can I go to get good power toys for Windows XP Pro SP2? I
could not download tweakUI from the Microsoft website as there was no link to
click on. Possibly because it was for XP SP1?
Thanks in advance!
