Well, I just set up windows mail with website we started about a few weeks
ago. I have only received emails from names that look like customers, but
they are attachments and when i open them its a high security risk with
Norton. These are the only emails i receive and i know that my email is
working cause i have tested it with other email addresses. Is this hackers
trying to crash my computer? They all look like customers that are trying to
get through. If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated. thank you

First thing is to turn off email scanning by Norton. See
www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3 WinMail is same as OE. Then you should
probably remove your mail account close and reopen WinMail and then add the
mail account back again.

Then save the attachments and scan them with the antivirus after saving
them.

What is the file extension of the attachments?

Well most of the attachemnets are .zip files that contain names like "text",
"read me", and "body". Also I have gotten two mails that have a .pif file
which i have no idea of what extension that is. I redid my account like you
said and saved them but Norton is still saying they are a very high risk.

Actually, this sounds like a virus attachment to me. No wonder Norton is
going crazy! :-)

Ok Just wanted a second opinion. pretty crazy how you can recieve up to 10
emails a day and all of them are viruses. I will just have to turn my filters

I get hundreds. Be very careful about attachments. Those are all likely to
be bugs. What is happening is that you stuck your email address up on the
web, and now spammers can get it and that's why you are getting all that
activity now.

Don't open an attachment from someone you don't know.
