Old Dog Trying to Learn New Tricks

Using Movie Maker on Windows Vista Home Premium.

Here are my problems/questions:
1. Can I strip the sound from a video clip and replace it with an aduio clip?

2. I can not hear my WMA audio clips in MM. I recorded them in Windows Sound
Recorder and I can play them elsewhere. I know they are good, but they will
not play in MM. I can play a mp3.

3. Does the imported audio overwrite the sound in the video?

Thanks

Bob

So I scoured the site for similar issues. Some one said that if you rightr
click on the audio portion of the time line you can set the audio to mute.
I have MM in Vista. When I drag a video to the video time line nothing will
appear in the Audio portion of the time line. If I right click on the
timeline my only options are to play it or clear it..
Do not tell me Microsoft engineered this option out.
There has to be a way to mute the audio from the video so you can add your
own sound track in Vista Movie Maker.

Maybe the following article will offer
something useful:

Work with clips in Windows Movie Maker

Scroll down to the screen shot that says
"Trim (hide) parts of a video clip"
in the following article:

Do you see the + to the left of Video?
Click it to open the Audio track. Now...
right click the Audio track and choose
mute.
