Mike

I am new to this program and am trying create a database
with the following formula:
=F4+G4+H4+(I4*2)+(J4*3)+K4+L4+M4
I know there must be some way to extend this formula to
rows 5 through 277 without having to type the formula
into all 277 boxes with the different row numbers! I'm
sure it is probably ridiculously easy to do, but I cannot
find an answer in references that I am using and I am
getting frustrated! Can someone help me out with this?
Thanks

Hi Mike!

Select the cell with the formula
Point to the bottom right corner until you see the +
Double click the + and it will copy down as long as there are entries
on the left or / and right.

You need to have checked:

Tools > Options > Edit
Check "Allow cell drag and drop"
OK

Or you can left click and hold down on the + and drag down as far as
you want.

Hi Mike.
Try:
=SUM(F4:H4)+(I4*2)+(J4*3)+(K4:M4)
Press F2 & then Ctrl+Shift+Enter. This will solve the
first line equation.
Now Click the little black box in the bottom right of the
cell and drag the formula down as many lines as you like.
Regards
Michael
